Comedian Joel Kim Booster Talks Gay Dads, Dating Apps on “Late Late Show”

"If I’ve been murdered, I’ve still been picked."

"Give it up for gay dads!"

Out stand-up comedian Joel Kim Booster appeared this week on The Late Late Show with James Corden and shared some funny thoughts on gay fatherhood.

During his set, Booster, who's also co-host of the RuPaul's Drag Race podcast What the Tuck?, discussed the benefits of being an uncle to his older sister’s babies.

“I love spending time with them and just sort of soaking up all the Instagram engagement that I can while they’re young,” he said, adding that he doesn't think kids are in the cards for him.

"I think it’s so great that there are so many gay dads in the country," he continued. "But I also think it’s wrong.”

"I believe that gay men, we were put here as population control, and I think every time God above sees two gorgeous men raising a child he’s like, ‘Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, you have misunderstood the assignment.’ And it must be so frustrating for Him, because we’re so much better at it!”

"Like, you've got this national park, and it is overrun with deer. So you release some wolves into the neighborhood to get rid of some of the deer, and then the wolves start raising high-functioning deer, you know? 'Oh, my God, they named that deer Atticus and they opened up a Montessori school! It's out of control!"

Booster admitted he's just joking, of course, but pointed out that his own father has two gay sons: "I don't think there's a clearer sign from God that He is done with this bloodline."

The single comic also did a bit about being on the gay dating apps, turning his L.A. apartment into "a revolving door of strangers," and why he wouldn't mind getting murdered: “If I’ve been murdered, I’ve still been picked, you know? And that, ultimately, is the point of dating. Either way I get to stop.”
